7 Sinne/Senses Slow Marathon: Round 1

A rain-infested walk from Hildesheim to Winzenburg. With a klein but fine group of folks that was spiced up by 7 sense inspired artists along the way.

I am knackered just now. but might write more in due course. For now a full and much better account than mine you get from my co-walker Bärbel: 42 Kilometer für die Sinne – Mein Erlebnis beim Slow Marathon 16. und 17. Juli 2025 - hilspanorama.

Day 1 Hildesheim Station - Kulturherberge Wernershöhe: 9 hours

Day 2 Wernershöhe - Fischerhütten Winzenburg: 6 hours

Our Hödeken Wanderpass invited people to test all the senses along the route facilitated by all those lovely Artists, Cooks and other Makers.

Feeling – Masked Play with Chaos-Lotta: "Encounters of a special kind." As masked artists, they surprised folks along the way – playful, direct, and touching.

Listening – Sound Sculptures by Alexander Pietz: "Seeing what we hear – Hearing what we feel." Three sound sculptures made fairy tales, poetry, and forest creatures audible and tangible.

Listening – Alte Falter: "Two voices, many worlds." Singer-songwriter duo with music from all directions – live on the trail.

Smelling – William Niese: "Let's sniff!": A fragrant experience in the middle of nature – forest bathing meets discerning noses.

Balance – Mandy Ostländer: "Breathe, stretch, balance." A little break for body and mind – right on the trail.

Tasting – Cordula Fichter: "This is what the Leinebergland tastes like – hearty, regional, special." Säcker Knödel – the delicious, creamy cow's milk cream cheese from 'Das Milchschaf' rolled in herbs was available in many creations.

Looking – Angelina with picture frames. "Frame the moment." A game of perspectives and viewpoints – rediscover your surroundings.

7th Sense – Barbara Tremba: "In motion with all your senses." Mindful body experience at the famous Apenteich springs – connected with water, silence, and self-awareness.
